INSA x High Heels Wall in Downtown LA

INSA x High Heels Wall in Downtown LA

Before heading back up to San Francisco INSA painted a 70 foot wall in downtown L.A. His request was for the dirtiest wall in L.A. so they gave him The Play Pen. Dailydujour recently had the pleasure of assisting UK artist INSA in documenting two wall murals done during his recent west coast swing prior to his solo @ Fifty24SF. Both walls are part of the ever-expanding LA Freewalls Project. For his oh-so-pink ‘Heels’ mural, INSA was focused on environmental context. He wanted a ‘dirty wall’, all the better for people to confront the darker aspects of the work and reflect upon it. And that’s exactly what he got … a long gray wall on the side of the Play Pen – a strip club that prides itself on it’s nasty quotient. The bike rider? That’s Kristina Rose.
