Graffiti: art or filthy? It is a never ending debate. The council of Bristol (UK) has plans for an online vote on the website. Using pictures of graffiti, the public chooses which wall will and won’t be cleaned, reports The Guardian today. The conservative art critic Brian Sewell has already cracked the idea: “The two words ‘graffiti’ and ‘art’ should never be put together.”

The plan has formed after the much discussed and well-attended exhibition of street artist Banksy in the Bristol Museum. Not that the Town of Bristol now declares love to graffiti. Policy is to remove illegal messages in the outdoor area within five days, if it has a racist flavor to it within two days.
