In a two man show, between 28th August -26th September, Elms Lesters will juxtapose two contemporary artists who are both at pivotal points in their careers.
American painter James Marshall (DALEK) and Dutch artist Boris Tellegen (DELTA) are both masters of their own very particular styles.
Dalek and Mike Giant have a show currently on display at Parisian Gallery Galerie Magda Danysz. As one of our favorite vector-based artistic creators, we’re more than hyped on this great video interview with Dalek. Watch. Learn. Enjoy.
Opening on saturday April 25th, 2009 from 6 to 9 PM
The Magda Danysz gallery is pleased to welcome two major artists from the street art culture who have developed a style of their own: Dalek & Mike Giant.
Though they have very different styles they talk about the same culture, the same influences, the same world. Dalek is one of the artists who as Shepard Fairey, Dave Kinsey, and Twist (aka Barry McGee) is taking the old school styles of graffiti and while exposing the work towhole new audiences at the same time. Mike Giant has added the whole tattoo culture to his graffiti background. He started writing in 1989. Early on, he was influenced by his graffiti partners a lot, as well as by writers like Twist, Rem, and KR. A habit he has kept from his graffiti years as now, Mike Giant uses words as the building blocks of language.
