MONTANA GALLERY BARCELONA: ED ZUMBA
Born in 1978, Ed Zumba started painting when he was still a child. In the late 1990′s he used graffiti to paint his drawings on the street walls in a wide, free format along with Kode, Asma.Inc, and Sprayz Platinum. Years later took up tattooing to draw on people’s bodies.
His style is characterized by a triangular system where graffiti, tattoo, and painting interact. For Zumba, drawing is a game where everything is possible and any technique can determine the output of the piece; that’s why one discipline helps the next to evolve. All vertices and necessary.
Zumba creates symbols and invents worlds by changing the meanings, by searching into things, by transgressing the established values… in order to express a rebellious, reflexive version from a sarcastic and fun vantage point.
