ModNation Racers

On the E3 game con. was a nice presentation for the new PS3 game “ModNation Racers: Play, Create, and Share on the Race Track”. You can play with you own custom KidRobot toy in a funny racecar, like mario cart on the snes!

ModNation™ Racers puts innovation and creativity directly into the player’s hands with simple, intuitive and fun tools to create custom characters, karts and race tracks. These can be shared and played freely by anyone in the world on the PS Network.
Vinyl art & collector toys are an inspiration for the developers as they set out to create a game about creativity and self expression. It is in this spirit of creativity that they developed their character, kart and track editors. They want to give the user the ability to make whatever they wanted, but do so in a way that felt like playing and not working. For example, you just drive and the track is created behind you, so it’s intuitive and fun.

More pics and video after the jump!

Graffiti Box, Kids Game!

Ravensburger dares to new terrain: the line “GraffitiBox” brings the games manufacturers four sets for kids from seven years on the French market. There are a number of packs available:

“Graffiti Box” which contains an A4 sketchbook, stickers, 10 marker pens and 40 stencils of graffiti style letters.
“Blackbook Pack” which contains an A4 sketchbook and 10 marker pens.
“Aerograff Pack” which contains 12 stencils, 6 markers and an airbush.
“Letters Pack” which are two different collections of 30 graffiti letter stencils.

For some reason these kits only seem to be available in France and don’t even come up on the Ravensburger site when searching in languages other than French and they are available through Amazon in France for just under 35 Euros. Even though this is a bit of a gimic I thought I would post it up anyway even if just to give everyone a laugh, either that or make you cry out in dispair!

WiiSpray graffiti controller

The topic of graffiti is very divisive. Some view it as art, while others perceive it as nothing more than vandalism. Here’s a little something that will fuel that debate, a concept addon controller for the Nintendo Wii that simulates a spray can.

Started as a university design project, the WiiSpray concept lets you insert a Wii Remote into a spray can-shaped shell. You will then be able to use it as if it were a real spray can on a digital display. To make it even more realistic, colors are changed by physically swapping out different caps so you actually get a feel of the “color” of the object you are holding.

Also the is a live video, with a working Wii Spray controller!

Super Famicom Cartridge USB Hub

I’m all for mods, hacks and whatnot, but this SNES USB hub goes too far. Removing the innards from Mario Kart, just for a USB hub? Surely, Hong Kong 97 deserves such a fate, no?
